Life Is Happening Through the Work

Most days, running a staffing company feels like controlled chaos. Phones ringing. Clients pushing. Projects needing to mobilize immediately. Employees needing answers while problems stack faster than they can be solved. It’s loud, demanding, and relentless, and some mornings it’s fair to ask why I get out of bed to do it.

Then, in the middle of that madness, something cuts through. An employee shares a moment, not a metric or a request, but a piece of life. A new baby. A death in the family. A first home. A new car after years of scraping by. For a brief second, everything else disappears.

In that moment, titles fall away. Hierarchy fades. Economics, religion, and status no longer matter. It’s just two humans meeting in something real.

That’s when the realization lands: life isn’t waiting for work to end. Life is happening through the work. Every assignment, every job, every paycheck intersects with a much bigger story unfolding behind the scenes.

Profit matters. It keeps the doors open and creates stability. But people are the point. When we forget that, work becomes extraction. When we remember it, work becomes stewardship.

I don’t get out of bed for pressure or pace. I get out of bed for those human moments that quiet the noise and remind me that this business touches real lives, and how we show up in those moments matters.

Cheers,

Kevin Anderson
